Merry Christmas

Our little celebrated Jesus' brth yesterday. We had a great time. We woke up and Andrew and Luke opened their stokings and then Luke opened his presents. We then had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel with Tim, Kim, and Kiersten. It was a blast!

Later on we decorated a whole bunch of sugar cookies. Well...Andrew and I did. Luke ended up just licking the frosting out of the bowl and pouring some on to a cooke, which he ate. That was a special treat for him because I really don't give me sweets.

It was a great day. Today we will be going to fellowship at church and then Luke and I will pack up and head to Kansas for a week with my parents. Andrew will stay behind to continue to work on the basement. We don't have much longer because we would like the basement finished before baby #2 joins this world in May.

Oh, for those who don't know we did have an ultrasound but our little bundle was exteremely active that the tech could barely get any pictures. So she said she thinks that baby is...a girl? She added the ? so for now we are calling the baby Amelia until my next ultrasound on January 30th. Hopefully "Amelia" will be a little more calm because I would ike to know for sure. The tech told me not to buy anything because right now its likea 55% chance it's girl.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season and don't forget why this season even exists. A little baby was born in order to wash away OUR sins. Thank you baby Jesus!

Chaput Christmas

We had my family's Christmas on Saturday and Luke was very excited. So I had him pose in front of one of our trees before we left to go. I think he is darn cute.
Before we were able to open up presents Lilly dressed up as an angel and told the story of Jesus' birth with my mom's help.
Sunday the kids preformed at church but there was a confusion on what kids did what songs so as you can see Luke is acting like he did not know these songs...because he didn't.

2011

Man oh Man did a lot happen in 2011. So since I never put out a Christmas newsletter...this will have to count.

We got pregnant in late Spring but ended up having a miscarriage on vacation in Gatlinburg. It was very difficult on us.

Andrew and I made a huge decision to have me step down from my Director position and work part, part time from home to allow me to be a full time mom starting in September. BEST DECISION EVER!

A week after stepping down we find out we are pregnant. (He get to find out if it is a boy or girl the week before Christmas...so that is an awesome gift...being able to call the baby and name instead of "baby.")

Luke got potty trained before he turned 2 in October. He also began recognizing letters and counting to 5. The best part is he is starting to put sentences together. Some awesome phrases he says around the house would be "oh man," "thats awesome,"and "oh nuts." He is a smart, loving little boy that has a little stinker part to him.

We recently broke him from his paci and changed is bed into the full size version. And he has done great. The big perk is that he seems to have transitioned from waking up in the morning at 4:30 to now waking up around 5:30 or 6. YAY! And I did that all while Andrew was in Florida for work.

Andrew will not be going with us to Kansas this year (boo) because he is on short time line to get the basement completely remodeled before baby number 2 comes in May. But so far he has done a great job from demo to framing up walls and other things I didn't know of.

So in short that was our year. And I cannot wait to see what 2012 holds for us. (when I go to my other computer I will post some pictures form 2011)

Luke's Birthday

Luke's birthday theme was art because, well, he loves art so we had lots of crafts for the kids to do.
Towards the end of the party Luke fell asleep on Uncle Tim, then passed on to Aunt Kate and then I took him and got him to wake up with the promise of a cookie but it was a cupcake instead.

Luke is attempting to ride the wild hog herself...Bella.

For Luke's Birthday my mom, myself, and Luke went to the Shedd Aquarium. He had a blast!

And yes...that is a duck with the fish.

May 14th

So we are expecting a bundle of joy on May 14th. Andrew is convinced it's a girl and I am just staying open to whatever God blesses us with. When I was pregnant with Luke I felt like I wasn't pregnant pretty much the whole time except for the swelling. This one is a little different but I at least know that things are going smoothly when I am feel a little less like me. At this point I am only 10 weeks and my brazil nut is pretty active at least what I saw from the ultrasound.

Next post will have pictures because Luke's birthday is Thursday and we are having a birthday party for him on Saturday. I cannot believe that he is already turning two. He has already accomplished so much in his short time with us. Talks up a storm, potty trained except during napping times, and gives the best hugs, kisses, and back pats when you need to be comforted. I know he will be a wonderful big brother once he gets use to sharing his mommy.

Mis-hap

Sorry it has been awhile since I last posted anything. I had to change my email address and when I when to update it on my blog I was blocked out of it. So, I promise to be a little better.

So for now that is it.

Yikes

Luke is helping out around the house. What a ham!
We are in the very slow process or remodeling the basement. This is he only picture we have taken so far but t is now totally gutted.
We (meaning me) are going to try to potty train Luke in 2 weeks. So I got him so underwear. He thought he was hot stuff.
A couple months ago we moved him into the bigger room and coverted his crib into a daybed. As you can see he did great with the transition. Love this kid!

In 2 weeks I will get to spend more time with this kid because I will begin working from home part time. I can't remember a time working even less than 25 hours a week since freshman year in high school. I am SOOOOO excited for this opportunity. Yay for us!

In heaven

So I was having some complications over the weekend with the pregnancy and yesterday I found out that I lost the baby. It was really sad news to get but I know I did not lose the baby. She is just in Heaven waiting for me to get there. Although I was extremely excited to meet her, I know she is in good hands until I get there.

Thank you for all your prayers. We did appreciate them during this rough time.

Jan. 11?

So Andrew and I are very excited to announce that we are EXPECTING again. Saturday I took a test while Andrew was at work and it was positive. So I had Luke paint a picture(it really just looked like 4 different colors smeared together) but I labeled each color blue for Andrew, Pink for me, Green for Luke, and yellow for baby. So when Andrew walked in the door I told hm Luke painted it for him.

He said it looked nice not really giving it any attention. Finally I pretty much pointed it out and he started to jump up and down. He was so excited.

S now it's just the waiting game. It gives us time to really spend the extra time with Luke before he becomes a big brother.

Easter 2011

Wonderful Easter. It just gets better and better as uke gets older. We had an egg hunt at my parent's house. Luke searched and gathered. He had a great time. To bad the majority of his findings went straight into his parent's stomach. We don't let Luke have sweets. Too bad for him.

We he woke up he and Andrew had baskets to open. Luke's best part was his bunny ears (even though we have explained the the easter bunny is not real) and his bead necklaces. That's right, he likes his necklaces. We also got him the Veggie Tales Easter Carol. Still over his head but it never hurts to explain the real meaning of Easter at 1.

Laughter

Last week Luke and I were just hanging out and when I said Bella weird, he would repeat it back and just bust up laughing. And yes, he is not wearing pants. When he gets home from a long day at school, he feels more relaxed with no pants. Don't judge!

Spring Fling

Last Sunday Luke was playing with his older cousins outside. So he hopped on the trike and went cruising. Yes I know...he's a cutie.

At Growing Kids we do a spring fling so they did an egg hunt (which is him and cousin Owen hunting eggs). Luke picked up a whole 3 eggs and got bored. He spent most of his time with his old infant teachers while I ran the event. I did take him to sit on the "Easter bunny's" lap (aka Miss Marilyn). Luke was given high fives in all. He also got football painted on his cheek. He had a great time.

I'm Back

So I haven't been blogging for a while. Sorry there are no good reasons. I will work on it. So in the next few days I will start posting more pictures of what has been happening with my family. So right now I am just wasting time before taking Lilly to her birthday party!
