Nothing NEW

Sorry that I am really bad at updating my blog. Nothing really happens in the Burkey household...at least that people would want to read about. Currently the house is decorated for my favorite holiday of the year, CHRISTMAS! My family will get together on Saturday and Sam and Shannon will drive in that day. Yeah! Last Thursday was the Holiday Program for my center. We had a little over 500 people show up and I was really nervous to speak. Apparently I sounded fine. We had about 150 kids perform, ranging from 2-6 years old. It was crazy. My doggies are good, but Charlie is a stinker. Charlie was take after Andrew and Bella must take after me! It Snowed bad on Sunday and I woke up early to shovel so we could make it to church on time. Then 5minutes before we walk out the door my mom calls and says, "you know we called church off." AHHH...na! I hate snow. That's it from me. I will take more pictures during the holidays so there is something to look at.

A Surprise from Nashville

So Andrew was asked to go down to Nashville for two weeks to help out anothe Scott's branch for work. It sucked! Atleast I had Bella to keep me company. In that time, we decided to put up our house for sale and buy another one. Needless to say...don't do that when your husband is out of town. Yikes! Well, Andrew decided to surprise with a puppy. Yes, another puppy. I am growing to love Charlie. Him and Bella are best friends which is great becuase Bella need to become a little more active.

At the Pumpkin Farm today

Today my parents, Kate, Sam, Shannon Lilly, and I decided to go to the pumpkin farm to get ready for the season. Who would have thought that it would be 86 degrees on October 6th? After that we went back to my parent's house to wait for Nic and Jen to get in from their honeymoon. Whoo!

Nashville, TN

Tim is getting ready for the day!
And so are we...

Downtown Nashville

This is the crew at OrpyLand.
Yes Ladies...he belongs to me!

Down below is a picture of us in a touring bus dating back to '52.

So...Andrew and I were to go on a cruise the first week of October and due to weather our flight was delayed. Meaning that we were unable to make it to Miami in time to cruise to Mexico. We decided to call up Tim and Kim and go on a road trip to Nashville for 4 days. Here is a little of what we did.

Labor Day with The Burkey's

This Labor Day, Andrew and I were invited to spend the day with the Burkey Gang. We had brunch, made fun of each other, watched movies, and did some shopping. The boys went to Lowes while the Girls (plus Mark) went to Hobby Lobby and Pages in Time. Good Time, good times! Can't wait until next year.

Bella & Me

I realized that I never really take pictures and I need to do it more often. I went to help my sis out yesterday and she took some pictures of me and Bella (which is not easy)! Lilly want to join in on the fun. Some this is how cute both my babies are.

Hey Friends and Family,

I am currently in need of people interested in working with young children. Due to South Bend Schools stealing several of my teachers and enrollment going higher than expected, I am in need. I am hiring for both full time and part time positiong. We are only open Monday through Friday and we do have some benefits. (Vacation, sick, holiday...) If you are interested or know someone who is, please call me at work at 273-9048 or email me at my work email: director.sr23@growingkids.com This job is great for college students who need experience, plus you can use the time that you are working to go towards some of your classes. There is a down side, the pay is not amazing but its better than alot of retail stores. Thanks!

Remodeling x2

Dear Friends and Family,

Dah dah da da dah...(the words of Dennis Chaput after finishing a big project)!!! We restored the original wood floors that we discovered underneath our carpet. Talk about very hard work. I read two books and info. at Lowe's about restoring wood floors and let me tell you...I was worried. I was thinking, "what have we gotten ourselves into?" After working from 2:30 pm till 2:30 in the morning on Saturday, several top coats on Sunday, and the final coat on Monday and we finally finished. I hope you enjoy the pictures (Shannon, the pictures of Bella are for you).
